Fibres International produces excellent quality recycle feedstock by working on quality at
all levels. For example, we work with generators to separate recyclables from trash and to
avoid contamination. Once material arrives at our plant, it is subject to quality control
inspection. This information is provided to suppliers along with practical suggestions to
eliminate non-recyclable items. After receiving, inspection, and grading, materials are
handled in several ways.
Corrugated cardboard is received in a dedicated area and baled in a high density machine.
Due to high throughput, corrugated is seldom accumulated in inventory and we pride
ourselves on loading trucks to clear inventory on a daily basis. Corrugated is
shipped to mills across the continent and throughout the Pacific Rim to produce new
corrugated or boxboard packaging.
Newspaper is processed to eliminate contaminants. Bags, magazines, boxes, and other
contaminants are manually removed to produce de-ink grade newspaper and then baled.
Bales are shipped to mills that remove the ink to produce newsprint. Newspaper can also
be marketed to produce cellulose insulation, boxboard, or molded pulp products such as egg
cartons.
Printer's scrap and office paper grades are
used to produce new office communication papers, paper towels,
tissue, and to provide a white printing surface on boxes for breakfast cereal.
Aluminum Beverage Cans are inspected for quality, tested for moisture and baled for
shipment to smelters. Aluminum cans are converted into new sheet stock at rolling mills
then turned into new cans.
Regardless of the particular process involved, Fibres International always devotes the best
equipment and personnel to the task. Our facilities are modern and well-equipped. If
security of printed information is important to you, we are committed to meeting your needs
by handling high grades within fully enclosed containers and buildings, as well as shredding should
that be required.
