Markets are fundamental to the recycling process. Fibres International is active in market development to assure that recyclables are processed for their most profitable and best use.

Recyclable paper is sold to a diverse group of domestic and foreign recycling mills. Fibres International's excellent plant facilities serve as points of origin for shipments to mills as close as the next town, and as distant as India. Though you may do business with us over the Internet or the phone, it is important to know that our network of facilities allows hub and spoke service for mixed loads and personal local help when required. Good quality material in dense bales are two key elements in our marketing success. Another critical element is mill knowledge. Many of our marketing staff have mill experience and have traveled widely to understand emerging market opportunities.

In addition to paper, Fibres International has experience in recycling aluminum beverage cans, non-ferrous scrap metals, and tin food containers. The same quality control and production facilities that process paper grades allow us to prepare and ship quality feed stock to long-term market "partners" for these materials.

Fibres International operates its own glass recycling plant in Seattle, Washington, and annually purchases 80,000 tons of glass. This is all converted into new glass containers.

Plastics, though a relative "newcomer" to recycling, have been handled by Fibres International since 1989. The key post-consumer resins with good markets are PET and HDPE. Both are sold to export and domestic consumers for conversion into fabrics, fiber insulation, new plastic film or container products. Recently, Fibres has begun marketing 1-7 grade plastics collected in the City of Seattle's 'Third Generation' curbside recycling program.
